Registration & accounts
For online registration01Why do I need to create an account before registering?
Your account is your family's home base. Create it once and you can register any of your players in seconds, sign waivers digitally, see your registration history, and manage everything from one place — no re-typing the same details every season.
02How do family profiles work?
Add each of your players to your family account once — name, age, level. From then on, registering them for a session or camp is just a couple of clicks, and we always have the right info on file to place them correctly.
03Do I sign a waiver every time?
No. Waivers are signed digitally inside your account and kept on file — sign once per player per season and you're set. No more paper forms at the rink.
04Can I register more than one child at a time?
Yes. From your family account you can register multiple players across different sessions and camps in a single checkout.
05How much do Edge programs cost?
Weekly sessions are priced per class and billed for the full session block — the current price for every program is always shown on the schedule page, and camps are priced per week on the camps page. HST is added at checkout.
If your player joins a weekly session partway through, the price is automatically prorated to the classes remaining.
Refunds, credits & missed classes
01Are session and camp registrations refundable?
To align with staffing, planning and ice costs, our notice-based policy is:
- 100% refund with more than 4 weeks' notice
- 50% refund with 2–4 weeks' notice
- No refund with less than 14 days' notice
- For summer camps, we'll try to move your registration to another week if requested and available
02There's no refund after a camp or session starts?
Correct — after the start date of any camp or session there is no refund or credit for missed days or cancellation. Refunds that are issued may be subject to a $50 administration fee.
03My player is injured or ill — can I get a credit?
Yes. A credit may be granted if sickness or injury prevents your skater from participating, with a doctor's note. Credits are added to your family account: they can be used for any player in your family, applied at checkout when you choose, split across registrations with the balance carrying forward, and are valid for 2 years from the date issued.
04Can my player attend a make-up class for one they missed?
We understand schedules change, but we don't offer make-up classes. This keeps instruction quality high, maintains a good student-to-coach ratio, and minimizes disruption to classes — a policy we've held for years.
05Are waitlists available?
Yes. If you join a waitlist, you'll be contacted only if a spot opens up. No payment is required to join a waitlist.
06I haven't received my confirmation.
Confirmations should arrive within 24–48 hours. Please check your spam folder first — if it's still not there, reach out and we'll sort it.
Classes, levels & drop-ins
01Do you allow drop-ins?
Drop-ins are posted 1–2 weeks after a session starts, and only for Advanced or Specialty classes that are not sold out (e.g. Elite Edgework, Backwards & Defense, Fast Feet).
There are no drop-ins for PA Day, March Break or Summer camps, or for PS001 Fundamentals, PS101 Intro, PS101 Advanced or PS201 Intro.
02Do you offer evening skates in the summer?
We tried, but found players were tired after a full day at camp (often in the sun), and families didn't want to be in an arena on a nice summer evening. So we focus our summer energy on day camps.
Why Edge
01What is power skating?
Power skating is specialized skating instruction for hockey players — it takes the technique of figure skating (edges, balance, posture, stride mechanics) and applies it at hockey tempo to build speed, power, agility and efficiency on the ice.
Strong skating is the foundation every other hockey skill is built on. At Edge, skating is all we teach — in hockey skates, with sticks and pucks in the lesson — and we've specialized in it in Toronto since 2009.
02Every hockey program offers power skating — why choose a specialist?
There's a time for shooting, passing and stickhandling, and a time to focus purely on skating. We specialize in skating. Our sole focus is improving your player's speed, power, efficiency, agility and balance. Skating is the foundation of hockey — why wouldn't you go to a specialist?
03What results do you actually get?
Across five years of client data we consistently rank 8.5/10 or higher on meeting expectations, and 93% of players increase their speed after a single PS101 session. Clients are extremely likely to recommend us and to sign up again.
We coach in hockey skates and bring the stick and pucks into the lesson — the best of figure-skating technique, delivered in a hockey context.
